Ukrainian Wreath
Traditionally worn by girls who are eligible for marriage,
the Ukrainian Wreath dates back to pre-Christian times.
The wreath was placed with a candle into a river to predict
the young girls future. Depending on the direction the floating
wreath took, the girl would know whether she would remain
unwed, marry or die . Today the wreaths are worn on holidays
and during dances. They symbolize young womanhood.
